Hi! I’m Betsi Hill, and I have been writing since I was 7 years old – yes, truth! I started off writing creatively with plays, poems, and short stories, then branched out to writing for my school newspapers, in high school and college. Then I laid writing to the side while I pursued accounting and bookkeeping. In 2015 I recreated myself as a creative, fulfilling a lifelong dream of getting paid to write.
You see, my husband was running a company, and told me I had to retire from job for tax purposes. I was ecstatic! I could finally pursue my dream….there was only one hitch….I couldn’t make any money, because it would continue to be a tax liability. Things shifted again in 2017 when my husband divested himself from the company and retired. I hit the ground running, and now am getting paid to write.
This was my moment and my mountain. I conquered it, and so can you! I’ve been published in print and digital publications since 2017, and so can you! Whether you choose to write as a passion, write alongside your full time job (yes, this can be done), or add an additional stream of income writing, or use writing as your side hustle, you CAN get paid to write about your passion and/or the things you are knowledgeable about.
