Betsi Hill Journalism Bylines
Betsi Hill is an established travel and lifestyle journalist whose published work spans a decade of storytelling about the places, people, food, history, and experiences that give a destination its character.
Since 2016, her work has appeared across print and digital publications covering destinations throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, and beyond. Her reporting and features range from historic hotels and culinary traditions to cruising, boating, wine, road trips, and the unexpected stories discovered along the way.
Betsi brings lived experience to her journalism. Years spent traveling by land and sea, including nearly four years living aboard a catamaran and cruising the East Coast and the Bahamas, have helped to shape an approach guided by firsthand observation, a deep curiosity, and an instinct for discovering the stories that are often hidden in plain sight.
Today, her work is increasingly focused on Florida, where she explores the state’s history, culture, food, hospitality, and lesser-known stories. That same deep-seated curiosity eventually turned toward a city she thought she knew well. After more than twenty years of visiting St. Augustine, Betsi kept discovering places, stories, and pieces of history she had somehow missed. The questions wouldn’t stop, and ultimately they became Oldest St. Augustine, her first traditionally published book.
